Pavilion Compounding Pharmacy understands the needs of oncology patients and uses our advanced compounding expertise to alleviate pain and nausea during treatment regimens.  We can work together with your practitioner to solve specific needs by using customized medications and dosage forms.  

Pain Management:   Pain management is a critical component of a successful treatment plan during chemotherapy and or radiation treaments.  Using several different medications in various dosage forms, Pavilion Compounding Pharmacists can provide a customized formulation using many types of drugs to alleviate pain.  Using antidepressants, anticonvulsants, anesthetics, opioid and non-opioid drugs provides opportunities to intervene in the pain threshold in a meaningful way.  These drugs include gabapentin, morphine, fentanyl, ketoprofen, lidocaine, dextromethorphan, ketamine, cyclobenzaprine, levorphanol, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone.  The above drugs can be formulated into long-acting sustained released formulations, immediate release, quick dissolve, or even formulations that allow the drug to be absorbed thru the skin, avoiding the first-pass effect that oral forms have.  By utilizing the skin many of the side effects of oral medications are avoided by by-passing the liver.
